BTW,I've heard, though don't know for certain, that Fujinon bought the old Spencer Optical plant in Rochester. I was told thats where thier made in the USA products come from........

The reality is that binos . . . ALL binos, are just gum on Fuji Film's shoes. They have much bigger fish to fry. Media, Medicine, Ophthalmic, Aeorspace and more.
The ARs are assembled by Kama Tech, of Chula Vista (a division of the Japanese firm Kamakura) or Katsuma in facilities they already own. Those little "Made in the USA" caps are probably worth about $50 a bushel.
There is not a single line of CONSUMER binoculars made in then US . . . and hasn't been for decades! (Is there an echo in here?) And since I like to help with the realities of binoculars, I will, at the expense of getting my friend EdZ bent outta shape, offer my $50 AGAIN to anyone who can trump my 42 years in the industry and prove me wrong!
No, the 120mm Big Eyes made in Texas don't constitute CONSUMER binos. Nor do Varo's night-vision/stabilited units.
Cheers,
BillC
PS ‘Sure wish I was in Florida right now—preferably Gainesville.

I like my 7x50 AR's, and I wouldn't be selling them but for the compas. Nice glass! Thought they might be more useful like to locate an item, note it's position then share with a friend. They really are built like a tank Of course the large "Made in USA" hinge cap is really just a decoration like Bill says. Be interesting to see what those 6X30's go for. I put them on my watch list.

Hello,
It was sold for a little less than you expected. At that price, I should consider selling mine.

It did get near 200! I have one too. I will hold it a bit more till people forget about it and then I'll get about a hundred. My Leupold 6x30 is only the other binoculars of that specification. I expect to sell a good list of binoculars in 2013.
