Hello everyone, does anyone know where I can get a set screw for an 11 pound counter weight (3 inches in length) that has a nylon tip like the originals. I'm not sure about what thread size are on this set screw but if anyone knows that I might be able to make a screw myself from one from the hardware store.

Larry, I broke a setscrew for an LXD-75 counterweight a couple years ago and was able to find a replacement at ScopeStuff. I'd give them a try. Good luck!

Yeah the Meade (LXD) CWs have a pin that is pressed against the CW shaft to lock them in place (and the OEM lock screw is junk pot metal). The Synta weights have specially machined steel bolt. I'd just get some 3/16"/5mm brass rod and fashion a pin. Pretty sure your thread is 8mm course (1.25mm). Should be able to find 8mm threaded fasteners at a good Ace or big box hardware.
