Does Sky Tools 3 Standard allow for search and tracking of comets? One section of the "about" information leads me to believe yes, and the other no.

As SOP you should update the comets file regularly. Only takes a few seconds.

Sky Tools 3 is imo the best observing software. Yes alot of useful features for comets

The standard edition is excellent. Forgo the $5000 goto mount and buy the Sky Tools CD for $100. Buy a low end black & white laser printer and a bundle of recycled printer paper as cheap as you can get.
