I've been through some horrible withdrawal from lack of imaging opportunities in the Pacific NW. My AT65EDQ has been sitting on my desk with my Quantix KAF6303E camera attached to it since it was last used a couple of months ago. I didn't even make any adjustments to the focus; just set up the LXD75 mount, hooked up my dew heaters and computer and got busy.
First up is the last target I shot:
The Rosette 10 X 5 minutes bin 2x2 gain 2 camera temp -38.6 F 7nm Baader Ha filter

10 X 10 minutes bin 1 X 1 camera temp -38.6 F
Just got hubbles variable in there too!

And the one I started the night with: (I was just happy to be getting something even though I'd already shot this target earlier in the year)
All of these were placed in position by the Autostar on the LXD75 mount, I made no adjustments for framing and no cropping...
NGC 1499 9 X 10 minutes bin 2 X 2 Temp -38.6 F

nicely done on both images. The Quantix is a great cam, my dad uses the same scope setup as well with his. Figures when I was buying a CCD, they weren't in stock at the time then 2 weeks later he had some.

jsigone: Your Dad is Joe correct? He helped me out a lot getting mine off the ground with the "Quantix thread".
Thank You Al, Shawn, Mike, and Terry!!!
It was really sweet to get the sky time and the camera sure makes it productive. I've got an OIII filter I'd like to try out now but alas the clouds and rain have returned for an as yet undisclosed period
I combined the Ha data with some color data I shot of the Cone with my Canon 1000D a couple years back.

Great images! - I got out with the camera and limited time last night too - first good clear night since...well since I got that new telescope more than a month ago! Forecast is good tonight and I hope it holds so I can use the new scope.
These are great shots !

Thanks Ajay!! So by request I tried mixing the Rosette ha with some data from a couple years ago. I think I need to work with both for a while then try again but it's not bad...

Really nice images Robert! You were very productive! I particularly like the cone. You managed to extract a lot of detail in that one. The quantix appears to be a fine camera. I would certainly get one if it was easy to use it in the field with a laptop.

Thank You Ram. I wish the weather had been more Astro friendly this season so I could have devoted some time to longer FL imaging. Hope to bring it to Pixieland this year as long as I can sort out a reliable energy source to power it. I did get a pickup truck so a heavy battery pack is more reasonable than in my CRX.
