After a week of waiting, I was excited to receive my new CGEM Edge C8 today. The item came in two boxes... first clue something was wrong.
I was missing the tripod for the mount!!!
I've heard of cloudy skies as the joke mother nature plays on us when we receive new equipment, but this is nuts!
Oh well. What's another week of waiting for a lifetime of enjoyment.
*sigh*

Happens to the best of us. I spent three beautiful clear weeks last summer with a brand new Mach 1, Edge 800 and no tripod.
I had considered cutting down a tree to use the stump as a pier.

same thing happened to me. I bought my C11 HD from an online retailer. I got the OTA and the counterweight. Throw in a holiday weekend... and almost two weeks later, joy arrived.
Good luck!

When you receive your tripod, be prepared for cloudy weather! I received my new setup in November, its been cloudy ever since...

Let's summarize this:
New equipment: Mount = 2 weeks of clouds Scope & mount = 2 weeks of rain. Astro camera = 2 weeks of clouds, rain and snow. Astro software = computer crashes and hardware failure. Eyepieces and accessories = 2 weeks of mostly clouds, with short clearing periods just long enough for you to setup your equipment before clouding back over. A whole bunch of astronomy equipment all at once = Proof that Lightning can strike twice in the same place.

It figures that last night and tonight have been absolutely beautiful for imaging (minus the moon, of course). At least I have a new Edge OTA that can bask in its light...

This delay will give you time to buy some Depends, you'll need them when you take that first look.

Did the vendor state that all items would be shipped in two boxes?

Didn't specify shipment info. I knew it would be multiple, but didn't get a count on how many prior to shipping.

Exactly why I bought a Lunt solar scope. That sometimes fools the gods to have a scope for day and for night...for a little while.
Edit: Oops, that's a refractor, I meant a, um, uh, full aperture filter for my AT6RC, no, my LS6, that's right, my LS6!
