Around 2 weeks ago I took some amazing photos of the moon hand holding my iPhone up to the eyepiece with my Questar Seven. I realized that there is a better way to do this and getting even sharper photographs utilizing the iPhone with a dedicated eyepiece attachment. Then I noticed on the Orion Telescope website that they sell a universal photo adapter for all smart phones. Has anyone tried this type of astrophotography with their iPhone through the eyepiece? Are you just limited to just the moon and planets? Are Deep Sky objects obtainable?
I have the adapter and have used it with iPhone 4S and Q3.5.
The probalem with deepsky is that long exposures with iphone creates a lot of noise. I suppose one could turn-off display or minimize the brightness. You have to use the right App for time exposures. I like:
* Slow Shutter
* Top Camera
* Slowshutter +
* Magiclapse
