The GoPro Hero is an Action Digital Camera that is tiny and feather weight. I machined a coupler from 3/4" PVC pipe to mate a scopetronix 24mm EP afocally to the camera. A $50 bill was 10 feet away. this little wonder canera has all the electronic gizmos (bluetooth, HDMI, still, 1080P video, time lapse, etc.). Will try hand at astrophotography with GoPro Hero 3 camera soon. Shows more potential for planetary and lunar work compared to a webcam. Another feature of the GoPro Hero 3, is there is an iOS App for it. Using the App allows complete control of the camera function via Bluetooth; including real time viewing of the projected image on either an iPhone or iPad. This arrangement makes focusing easier, and the larger image is useful for group viewing, or projection on a HDTV. Interesting that you got it to work for u . The HD res is breathtaking ill say that. It comes with a WI-FI remote control, has Bluetooth, 1080P at 60fps in Med, ultra wide, and narrow settings. One has to make custom adapters, as there is no zoom, a wide fov eyepiece with long eye relief is needed. The distance of the Hero 3 lens from the EP is also a factor on the vignetting produced. Time lapse of .5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 sec intervals. All in a tiny camera that weighs just 2.6 oz with battery.
