That's a fantastic shot!
I guess the new wedge makes a great difference over the CG5.
From my personal experience with the CG5 (which i simply love) i saw that a great amount of vibrations come actually fromt he polar wedge.
The new one seems considerably wider which is a good thing from my point of view.

Yah that is awesome! I am looking really forward to putting an 8" edge on there with hyperstar and a Pepsi canera like the Atik.

jfrech14 great photo.
My scope/mount is still in the boxes. Too busy to even unbox them.
Although I did find that I bought the wrong T-adapter. Didn't know there was a Edge HD T-adapter I was supposed to get. Now another delay.

Jfrech14, Very nice image. What optics are you using on the VX? At 25 pounds it must be more than the 80mm f6 in you signature.

Mine comes Wednesday with the standard 8" SCT. I just have to figure out if I want to use my Nikon D90 or buy a Canon XSi for AP. Going to have to take a day off work so I can meet the UPS guy.

Here's a 300% crop of a single typical 90 second unguided exposure with my Stellarvue 80mm and a Canon T2i. This is after doing a 2+2 calibration, all-star polar alignment, then a 2+4 alignment. I haven't tried any unguided exposures longer than 90 seconds yet, but will the next time it's clear to see how far it can go. And when that limit is hit another iteration of the all-star routine and/or using PEC should push things even further.
I had to drop 4 out of 15 of my 90 second exposures that night, although I believe the culprit was some interested family members walking around the scope while it was imaging and causing vibrations on the thin concrete pad it was sitting on and not tracking errors.

Un-boxed the Edge 8 and VX mount today and assembled it. Holy Neptune this thing is solid. Very impressed with the heft of the tripod. Didn't realize this scope was this big. Would love to see a 14" in person.
Didn't realize I need an external power source. Any reccomendations?

Question Tried to use the mount for the first time. Sailed until I got to two star align. It rotated the scope to the east but I could not get the declination motor to move. It made noise but pretty much just sat there? I think I had the scope balanced as they requested in the manual. suggestions?

If you are setting up in your backyard or other similarly convenient location consider running off of the AC power using the Celestron 2.5amp power supply. They are available around $25. https://www.astronomics.com/celestron-25-amp-ac-adapter-telescopes_p15285.aspx

The important spec is addressed by this quote from the ad to which you linked: "22Ah battery, Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology for longer battery life." If true, this would be a very good power supply for your needs. The 22Ah is superior to the more-normal 17Ah. I'd get one of these in a heartbeat if I were in Canada.
