How to/Who can upgrade my Sirius EQ-G mount?
      #5613728 - 01/09/13 01:28 PM

I have a Sirius EQ-G goto mount that I have used very successfully for about 3 years. I read somewhere about cleaning out the original lubricant, upgrading the stepper motors, replacing the bearings with new ceramic bearings, and tuning up the mechanism for best PEC. I could probably do this myself if I had the instructions, but I would rather have someone do it for me who has had experience. Does anyone know of a company (or individual) who can do this for me?
Thanks!
Dave Emery

Are any of these things necessary if your mount is performing well? No. Leave it alone. If your mount is not performing well, bearings at least could help, I reckon.
