Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been asked and answered already: I am wondering, is there a consensus on the best USB3 Flea 3(monochrome)to buy?
Here is the PG page:
http://www.ptgreystore.com/category/69-usb-30-cameras.aspx
I will be using a C11 or maybe a C14 + barlow on an AP1200 supported by a Samsung 7-series i7 USB3-equipped laptop.
TYIA!

The correct answer is probably "none of the above".
All of the USB3 Flea3 cameras are CMOS. The Flea3 cameras that imagers here on the forum use are all CCD (Sony ICX618) cameras using FireWire or GIGE interfaces. Not sure if they will be making the Sony ICX618 version for USB3.

I believe the last word was that no USB3 Sony 618 was coming.

Safer is to buy a GigE (ethernet) version - if you have a gige (and not 100mbit) ethernet card - which is very often. The USB3 cameras, aside those with mono EV76C560 aren't very good / safe for planetary imaging (GigE EV76C560 is PGR Blackfly - cheap). Plus not every USB3 controller may work.

Thanks, I appreciate the replies, and the information. There is simply too much out on the market now, and it seems to me that it would be all too easy to accidentally buy the wrong camera.
