I would like to find users that run this combination.. Does the mount handle the C11 ok? How much counter weight do you use? I know the the 28 lb C11 is aproching this mounts ap limit, but would like users of this mount scope combo feedback. Im not concerened about the tripod,I hace a G11 tripod for this load.

if Ed is to be believed, the ieq45 is not comparable payload-wise to the CGEM or Atlas.
having used a C9.25 on my CGEM... i would not try to image with a C9.25, let alone a C11. unless you're only talking planetary.

I use a C11 with an iEQ45 and it is excellent for visual. You will need the counterweight extension bar, the mount already comes with two weights which are sufficient for visual accessories. For AP, you would need another counter weight and then by the time you put on a guide scope, camera, ect, you are really pushing the mount over its limit.

I am running a Orion 190mm Mak-Newt on mine (22 lb) with guide scope (3 lbs), camera (1.6 lbs) and can get good results but can be a struggle sometimes. I would not recommend going heavier for AP.
I have the extension bar but recently got a third weight so I can move the weights closer to the mount instead of being close to the end.
Cheers!

Thanks for the responses... 1. I have had 2 Atlas Mounts (at the same time ,one on a pier and one for portable,I know what they can do.)But they are WAY TOO heavy for me as a portable use mount! So lets not discuse them! Im looking for real time info From users of the IEQ45.please....The fact that The Ieq45 has electronic balance, helps to keep the loads set right in a practical use.( I also have a G11-G2 on a pier.....)
Mark your input helps alot,The ap work I would do would be Video at F6.3-F3.3..so thats not a problem....For dslr work I would use a AT6RC.....
But I had a C9.25 b4 and like it but am thinking I would like to have a C11,at just 8 lbs more than the C9.25. For the Fun factor of visual and video work. ------------------------------------------------------------ So for AP use I will use the AT6RC...DSLR 5-6 min So for visual and video(reduced F#)I would use the C11
Im thinking this would be the most bang for the $ set-up ------------------------------------------------------------ The C-11 vrs C-9.25 is not alot in weight or size to rule the C11 out....but as we get older each lb count ..lol It would be interesting to see some AP pics at a 35lb load and over 1000mm pics from this mount..

Bottom line? The mount is OK for visual use with the C11...but then so is the Sirius HEQ5 for less money.

Bob, I use my iEQ45 with my TMB130 and Stellarvue 80/9D mounted on top. With rings, cameras, and dovetail I'm close to 35 lbs for imaging. Plus two 11 lb counterweights. The mount does fine. With a poor balance I was able to get 7 minute guided subs. Since then I've balanced the scope properly, but haven't had a real chance to do any imaging.Hope this info helps.

Thank you for your imput.... Again Im not trying to debate this mount just looking for some real data to guide me in which scope I want to buy for this scope....For what I will be using this setup for.. My needs for video are around 1000 mm at 2-3 min max... For my DSLR i will be using a much lighter scope and around 800-1000 mm..... Im just concerned about tarcking and good gotos with a 35 lb load....and long FL.(C11) at F3.3 it would just make my needs for my MCX (video cam) a C9.25 or C8 would be less work to get it to work well with the video cam..I dont want to buy another fastar...lol... The C11 is alot of bang for the $ in the market right now. So far Iv just used my AT6RC and C6 on this mount, with no problems at all...I need to try more load,.

I think you will be fine with either of your setups.
For visual observing I have the same setup, just replace the cameras with 2in diagonals. That setup is 33 lbs. The goto's are great. With a good polar alignment and a one-star alignment I can get most objects within the FOV of my 10mm Ethos.
Tracking is great even without guiding. I've use a ES 6.7 with 2x barlow, 271x, and I can let the scope go for hours and the object will still be dead center in the eyepiece.

You assume I'd comment on it without having used one? Not THIS little black duck.
It's an OK mount. I am not as impressed with it as I thought I might be.
One tip: If you think I am out of line and don't like my posts, there is a simple solution: DON'T READ 'EM!

Bob, the iEQ45 is capable of handling the C11..it is a chore setting up the OTA, keep the tripod legs on the short side..(I use the mini-pier extension).
The weight rating is minus counterweights by the way.
I have found it very easy to carry out and setup up for viewing or imaging.
The largest OTA I've used is a AT10RC, about 35-36 pounds with guide scope and Dslr attached. I have the extra counterweight shaft and it balances with two weights on board.
Here's an image of M1 I captured with the AT10RC/2000mm f/l on the iEQ45:
M1..work in progress by Astronewb2011, on Flickr
Hope the info helps with your decision, no mount is perfect, but this one is light, and it works for my needs.
Best,
Paul

Thanks Phil...this was with the TDM, wouldn't have attempted it at 2000mm without it on. As it was, I had forgotted to lock the DEC lock for some reason..it slipped in DEC just as I was putting the dew shield back on after a Bahtinov session. I just moved it back to the marked DEC position and didn't bother with realigning due to the fact I was freezing.
So this image was taken under less than perfect conditions.
Cheers,,
Paul
