My only problem is that it appears to be an 'alt-az' mount so I don't know how it can do anything more than 15-30 second exposures without seeing some type of sky rotation. The price isn't that favorable either... I think you can get an Ioptron Smart EQ (guide port, EQ, low payload...) for about 400 bucks. I'm just not sure that it really competes with the other options that can go 'EQ". Good read though. When will these companies figure out they could hire a few of us as beta testers to post some pictures from these devices and their marketing would be viral? All 'we' as a community want is proof the devices work! It's meant for wide-field time-lapse movies and panoramas. The motion provides considerable visual interest to such movies. Also, if you set it to move E-W at a slow pace, it will partially compensate for the motion of scenes shot near the meridian, permitting longer exposures. The price given on the Celestron web site is only $250, which seems unbelievably low. I'm hoping the 'aux' port on the mount will allow for PC/etc control, it would definitely open up a world of low-cost time-lapse/panning shots. That has a tripod but no MAK OTA or solar filter... but, it does seem to be the Virtuoso's big brother – maybe a little more useful with all the same features plus a standard HC. but, for another $100 I can buy the "iOptron SmartEQ Pro" or for the same $400 you can gt the standard "SmartEQ". Too many lower end options that should handle a DSLR fine. So I'm back to doing nothing. Post Extras:       Jaimo!
