My Storm Kings are beyond economical repair, the lenses are so bad the whole bino is ready for the bin. I can't find a single example in the UK, and don't want to pay the horrendous custom charges for shipping from the states.
The question is, why are there none over in the UK but a few examples in the States? Are they that good?

Great? No. Very Good and solid? Yes. A lifetime bino? Yes.
You will find them as the Tamaya BIFR, Celestron Waterproof and others.

Are we talking about the Katsuma , or the Kamakura, or ...?
The Katsuma Tasco 7 x 50 ( Swift, Baker, Optic-Electronic, "Bausch & Lomb", Bushnell, Captain's (correct?), Tom, Dick, and Harriet..) sold to USMC, have grease-held shims , almost never used in original condition WW II B&L Mk 28, of which they are a second-rate copy, brittle glue, and otherwise poor prism mounting and prism angle control. The eyepieces and objectives are OK.

These models I own are made by Katsuma Kogaku. I would like to find a good pair is what I was trying to say. Gordon are you saying Katsuma Kogaku. are poor, or are you saying Kamakura's are poor...what are you saying?
Pretend i'm a child then answer as you would to said child, I may then understand your response. Thank you.
