Paramount ME II (with encoders) vs Ascension 200HR
      #5615918 - 01/10/13 05:22 PM

Hi Guys,

Now that I am mount-less I am looking to choose my new mount. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the new ME II vs the PW Ascension 200HR. They seem to have similar capacities and both come with encoders. The ME looks like it will come in a little cheaper but not by much.

While starting out life at my home observatory it will most likely eventually be operated remotely. Again to start with it will have a couple of Tak scopes on it but I fully expect to upgrade to a PW at some point.

PW and ME mounts in action at the new SSO in Australia.

That looks like a thinly disguised plug for SSO.

Very impressive indeed.
