this is my home built spherometer. thanks youtube uploaders; to 'carluchoparis' for the construction, and gordon waite for the mathmatics. building was a snap. calibrating and getting the math done...took careful time to ensure it was right, but done. so far, it seems to work great. i can use gordon's formula after grinds to calculate the fl and roc. i was surprised at how much 0.001 of an inch could change the roc. in the pic, it's up on some items. at this point, i just glued on the ball feet and needed it elevated so that the gauge pin didnt bottom out, to be safe.

Dan, I made mine of two 1/4 inch by 1 inch aluminum bar stock to avoid any flexure.
