Istar achromat objectives....used a pair to build these 5 inch f/5.5 binoculars. Excellent quality lens at a fair price.

Well, I suppose if you wanted to vote for anything that will only be released in 2013, you must be clairvoyant.

I was referring to the fact that this thread was started on 12/01/11. The original poster never tallied up the vote for 2012 and now we're into 2013.

We are barely into 2013; this was for the year 2012. It's only been 4 days (not counting today), since the vote ended officially. Tom T will tally the votes & post the results when time allows. Don't forget, Administrators & Moderators not only donate their time here, but also have their real lives & jobs to contend with.

Carol, I think you're mistaken on this. The candidates for product of the year were for the products that came out in the year 2011, not 2012, that according to the precedent that he [the original poster] set the year before. If you look you'll find a product of the year for 2010 that we voted on during the first few months of 2011. Hence the product of the year for 2011 began one month before 2012. It should have ended around March 2012 for the winners of 2011. Instead it's gone over a year.......
I hope I'm not too confusing on the post.....

Yep; I believe you are correct! I went back to the original post, and it was dated 12/01/11; so couldn't be for the year 2012. I think this was simply an oversight, and the results never got posted.

Would be nice to see "Customer Service" as a product. I think companies like the site sponsor and others should be acknowledged, products can be great - but made better by those who stand behind and support them.
My customer support product of the year awards go to TEC, SBIG, iOptron, Agena Astro, Starizona, Astronomics - in no particular order.
