My TEC 140 is still on the mount so I went after a Jupiter series with an eye toward doing an animation. You can see it at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62745990@N05/8369803370/in/photostream/ And here is one of the images from 01-08-2013 01-35-24 UT. It was taken through the TEC 140 w/ a Siebert 4x Barlow at f/28, and a DBK21AU618 (60 fps/180 seconds). The three moons (from top to bottom: Callisto, Io, and Europa) add some interest to the scene, and the whole thing framed very nicely in the TEC... The moon placement and the GRS make this shot extra nice. I was out the same night and should have captured at a reduced f-ratio to capture this. I saw this moon alignment in the DSLR's live view. You did a much better job at capturing it than I saw! I love the animation! Well done! I look forward to Saturn season, I find it a challenging target...and also good refractor fodder Glad to hear you would like to try some small bore imaging, I find it simpler and more relaxing to use a refractor and OSC from time to time as opposed to scrambling with the C11 and filter wheel.
