Well the skys, the equipement, the polar alignment, it all got together and worked last week. This is teh stack of 8 2 min subs. I tried to do some proccessing but am still not very good at post processing  . so if any one wants a crack at proccessing it go right ahead. Thank you

That's pretty neat Dave. You have achieved two minutes without noticeable trailing. Now just work on the processing part.

OP, great image! Your processing is fine..could maybe use a bit more saturation/contrast, but looks great. My first attempts at this were nowhere near this nice.

Congratulations, Dave on being able to guide. It looks like you have some good potential here. I would encourage you to take flats along with your other calibration frames, as your OTA exhibits some not too subtle vignetting. You'll find that processing your images will be much easier after applying proper flats.

Here is my latest reproccess of M42. I did some more contrast increasing and stretched it a bit more. I also applied an unsharp mask.
