I'm playing around, inside, with my new setup.

When the Atlas Mount first begins and at the very end of slewing there is a slight grinding sound; otherwise it sounds fine.

Normal??

Yep. I hear that right at the beginning and the end and almost nothing in between.

Its actually not gears grinding but the resonance from the motor. Nothing to worry about. They all do it.

Mine doesn't :-) But it did develop it before. Check the net for instructions on adjusting the housing around the worm gear. It may need a slight tightening, not a major job. Check also if you can jiggle your mount in Dec or RA while the clutches are engaged, there should be virtually no wiggle. Your mount should just be making a smooth whirring noise when it slews.
