Just received new IEQ30 and accessories, including the clever counterweight power pack. However, neither the retailer nor I realized that the counterweight shaft for the IEQ30 is too skinny for the larger diameter opening on the counterweight. Apparently, the iEQ 30 and 45 having differing diameter counterweight shafts. Has anyone found a suitable means to adapt the weight to the iEQ30?

The iEQ30 battery weight is actually the same as the Mini Tower battery weight. It ships with the proper adapter.
I would return it for the correct one, or call iOptron to see if they can just sell you the adapter?

Thanks Paul. I somehow overlooked that iOptron has two different batteries. I'm confident the dealer will help me get the batteries swapped out.

Sounds like you have your fix.
I'm still curious about the adaptor question, though, as I'd like to be able to use the iEQ45 CWT powerpack on both my iEQ45 and Skywatcher EQ6, which has a much smaller shaft diameter.
I think I'll try making a sleeve from a piece of PVC pipe.

I would also like to put this battery pack on my EQ5. An adapter from a plastic pipe shouldn't be that difficult to make.
You say there are 2 versions? What are two versions, what are the differences?
Good bye loads of iron , welcome multifunctional counterweight
