I need to buy a counter weight for my LXD-75 I just got. It only came with one, the seller said he only got one with it, when I told him it should heave 2 he said it ballanced with 1 wrong.. but without any more debate questioning honesty, I'm trying to find a replacement. I'd prefer a White origonal one, but if I cant I'll take what I can get. I pulled a weight off my Super Polaris mount, and with both at the very end of the bar works, but I need the weight for my SP mount...

Right now OPT has free shipping. This can be a huge savings on shipping heavy chunks of metal. Any counter weight for a CGEM, CG-5, LXD-75, LXD-55, EQ-3, or GP mount should work.
There is a second option, you could always put on a longer counter weight shaft or a counter weight shaft extension.

I also have about 3oo lbs of lead, I shoot Black powder and cast my own fodder, and for friends, I could make one from an old coffee can as well, then Prime and paint it. I'll check out OPT Thanks! Larry

I've used small free weights on mine and a free weight collar. They fit like socks on a rooster, but they work.

I don't know how the 8 and 10" could have possibly come with only one? My LDX-55 SN8 came with 2. Possibly the 6" or small refractor? With 1, even with the CW bar screwed out to about 3 threads holding and the weight clear to the end overhanging the bar it was still tube heavy. I took the weights from my Super Polaris mount and it works...untill I need the Polaris that is..

There is no reason you can't make your own.
I made one for my EQ1 style mount using a 4" PVC coupler, 2 end caps and a piece of PVC pipe through the middle. I then filled it with BB's and epoxy.

Thats a pretty good idea! I have hungreds of pounds of lead but it would melt the pvc pipe, I could cast a bunch of tiny sinkers and use them with epoxy in PVC Pipe. thanks! Anybody need lead let me know!!! Larry

Why cast sinkers? Cast disks that just fit into the coupler.

Why not adapt a barbell weight? Cheap. Just paint it to match.

I'm trying to avoid lead contact, thats why I'd puor a base then fill a bit more then put it on something ti turn it to form a wall of epoxy, then fill with sinkers and top it off with the epoxy. soud look kinf of cool, then make me want to go fishing!
