The 10Micron GM1000 HPS is in the price range of the DDM60. And the AP Mach1GTO also.

Yes these 2 mounts are in the same price range but they are still gear based mounts. Yes they have very precise gears but nevertheless there will still be some periodic error in them. I think that the new technology of the ASA eliminating the gears and periodic error completely deserves respect and if i have such amount of money for mount i will definitely give then for the new technology mount in the face of DDM-60 Pro. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, I forgot to add the VAT on the ASA site.
That's why I was overcheering the DDM 60.
Well, it all comes down to direct drive vs gears, and the setup time for mobile users.
Back to the drawing board, I guess...

nope.
i was also thinking about the DDM60 (before I got my Mach1) but the requirement for a computer all the time put me off. Same reasoning I did not consider the Paramount MX.

What 10Micron did was put more or less the same model building functionality as ASA directly in the mount firmware. Even though the model presently only can hold 25 sync points, the accuracy is close to rediculously good. Once the model is created, you do not need a PC to enjoy it! I like that.
As for gears... Direct drive is cool, that I have to admit. 10Micron got rid of half of the gears by using belt drive so it is pretty good anyway not to mention the build quality!
All the best,
Per
