The night was cold but very clear. My LX90 is out of commission so I pulled out me ED127 and recorded Jupiter for 2 hours at 5 minute intervals.

That's pretty cool. I always wanted to take a try at video assisted astronomy but been ever too fearful of the expense.

Look closely at the moons, they seem to brighten then darken. Were there clouds in the area or was this due to rotation of the moons?. Jupiter doesn't seem to do this.

It is just an atmospheric disturbance issue. Night temperatures changes causing air movement makes the moons twinkle slightly.
