Making some progress. Not using flats, darks or bias yet, but at least I am getting linear conversions on the raws without noise reduction.
This is 8 * 7.5 mins at ISO1600 on the EOS6D and the TEC200 f/9 refractor.
I can actually get all seven sisters in the shot now : )
Needs flats....

Nice image. The wisps are very clean and detailed. The camera looks to have very low noise.

A reflection wouldn't surprise me. I cannot image this part of the sky without terrible reflection.

ah looks very good!!!, this is sad, I bought 2 astro t3i last month, the 6D begin to be distract my brain ;p
I guess that iso1600 is low for the performance of the camera... but very conservative!
I seen a guy that use a 1DX in astro at iso25000+... surprisingly it look not that bad... 1x60sec iso25600 stock filter on canon 200mm f2.8... see:
