Hi folks,
Since we didn't have any entries in the December Challenge, we need to choose a subject for the February Challenge. Please post suggestions in this thread. In a few days when we have a few suggestions I'll put up a poll to vote to decide which suggestion becomes our February target!

What about the Whale and Stick galaxies combo (NGC4631 + 4656/7)?

I have two suggestions (neither of which has previously been a challenge target):
M94 - a very pretty starburst galaxy in Canes Venatici. It'll be high enough to photograph around 10:00p in February and then is well positioned the rest of the night.
NGC 1579 - NGC 1579 Trifid of the North emission/reflection nebula. It transits right at the end of evening twilight (7:00p) and is well positioned until midnight.

The Witch Head Nebula, IC 2118 I've never seen this one entered in any contest. This is the perfect time to image it since it is up at least 30 degrees in the East just after sunset. It sets between 1:00 a.m. - 1:30 a.m. in February.

Okay, Let's pick a target! I'll post the poll straightwaway and unstick this thread.
