I find that hard to believe...

Thanks Ajay, I was a little reluctant to point that camera at Alnitak due to the nature of the sensor(NABG) but it pulled through pretty well.
Arghh! Haze moving in now... shutting down. back to the foul sky.

Wow Mike. Sounds like a COLD adventure!
He doesn't have any secondary heat and frost on his secondary twice became a problem. The first time he removed the upper cage, took it into his p/u to warm, then reassembled, recollimated and went back to business. The second time was quite late, so it was his goodnight signal. He got home to Silverdale around 6:30.

What are the odds this soup will clear by then? I was out in my backyard at Hazy Hollow and I could hear the condensation rain down from the cedars and firs like steady rain.

Stacy : Thank You! I've wanted to do the IC pair some justice for a long time. I'm working on combining the Ha of the Horse Head with some color data, although it would be nice to get some new rgb data of it.

I have not seen such persistent fog in my dozen years here. The thought of renaming my abode Foggy Hollow fleeted across my mind but Hazy Hollow has a better ring to it.
At least its not freezing and I got a view just like Robert's picture.

Great to see that folks got out observing and imaging the last few days. The crazy fog inversion layer in Seattle (and nearby) caused really fantastic transparency in the mountains. The fog blocked out Seattle at Rattlesnake. And no cars ventured there until around 6 AM. I got TONS of data this weekend(only about 13 hours but that is a lot around here) Gives something to process in the coming weeks

Well I hate to say it but this lowland fog has given me some very nice nights! I get home from work around midnight driving up the hill about 45 min. from Bellingham and I am above the fog and it knocks the skyglow from Vancouver down to -- well it's just not there! Got to love it! I did see the Jupiter-Moon show but didn't really appreciate it as I was checking Color fringing on a new home-built Jaeger's 4" F/15 that I just put together. I hope everyone takes advantage of the clear weather while we have it, to me it seems to be a bad observing Winter.

Cliff Mass thinks this is a highly significant inversion pattern, too: http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/
I took my mom up to Mt. Rainier yesterday, climbing above the gloom into the sun. (At one point I made her laugh: we passed a sign that said "31 mi. to Paradise," and I said, "Or even closer if I don't keep my eyes on the road.") The chalkboard at the Paradise Visitor's Center predicted a high there of 63* and freezing level at 11,500'.
Here's the most recent 3 mo. climate forecast: http://www.climate.washington.edu/outlook.html. Winter isn't over.

Good on you for getting out there. I've been working swing shifts and I've been too beat after work to do anything other than glance at the sky.
