Sounds like a COLD adventure! He doesn't have any secondary heat and frost on his secondary twice became a problem. The first time he removed the upper cage, took it into his p/u to warm, then reassembled, recollimated and went back to business. The second time was quite late, so it was his goodnight signal. The thought of renaming my abode Foggy Hollow fleeted across my mind but Hazy Hollow has a better ring to it. At least its not freezing and I got a view just like Robert's picture. The crazy fog inversion layer in Seattle (and nearby) caused really fantastic transparency in the mountains. The fog blocked out Seattle at Rattlesnake. And no cars ventured there until around 6 AM. I get home from work around midnight driving up the hill about 45 min. from Bellingham and I am above the fog and it knocks the skyglow from Vancouver down to -- well it's just not there! Got to love it! I did see the Jupiter-Moon show but didn't really appreciate it as I was checking Color fringing on a new home-built Jaeger's 4" F/15 that I just put together. I hope everyone takes advantage of the clear weather while we have it, to me it seems to be a bad observing Winter. (At one point I made her laugh: we passed a sign that said "31 mi. to Paradise," and I said, "Or even closer if I don't keep my eyes on the road.") The chalkboard at the Paradise Visitor's Center predicted a high there of 63* and freezing level at 11,500'.
