Insulating Computer from Cold

I have a laptop computer that I use to run guiding software when I'm doing astrophotography. This is my first winter doing astrophotography, so I haven't had to work with cold temperatures before, and since nighttime temperatures routinely get below freezing, I am concerned about leaving my computer outside, because I worry my hard drive will fail, which I obviously don't want. I'm not sure how to insulate it from the cold. How would I go about that? Are there special cases or should I wrap it in a blanket or something? I just want to keep my computer safe, but guiding is a must for me.

Many people put their laptop in a box lying on its side and put towels under the laptop. The box prevent dew to fall on it ,and the towel under keeps the laptop warm by isolating the heat it produces when in use...Even at -20 Celcius that's not a problem. Went you bring it inside ,keep it on for an hour or so .

I use a plastic box and then a flap of fleese cloth that covers the open front when I am not looking at the computer. This hold the heat inside the box pretty well. Never had a computer problem from cold.

I just drape a towel over mine. I haven't had any issues, like last night it was out in 16 F temps.

Cold will not kill a hard drive. My gaming computer has cooling for the HD enclosure.

I use a lapdome. Keeps the dew off in the summer, protects it from the cold in the winter, and the heat that the computer generates keeps it warm inside. I zip up the front when I go inside to wait for an imaging run to complete.

I have an old acer lap top that I have had out in +25 celsius to -30 celsius.
The screen has gotten a bit dimmer (which is a good thing I suppose) but that's about it.
The lap top was given to me by a co-worker many years ago and it's still kickin.
When I do bring it in, I just don't use it for a few days.
