Hi.
Extremely windy today and I was anxious the possibility to open my dome. But because the angle of the wind coming from north-west, that was okay. The big problem was the blowing snow on my scopes and my drawing pad. So after completion of my sketch, I closed everything.
If weather predictions are good, I'll have another 5 clear days in a row with very very cold temperature. As I'm tough, I'll produce nice sketches for you guys.
Andre.

That you are tough we know already. That you're extremely talented too. And lucky as well with the weather... What more could we possibly want?
Some serious flare activity there!

Thank you guys. Well, I have to admit I'm a bit satisfied the sun is quiet. With cold weather, shorter it is to draw it, better is for me. Today's proms were very easy and quick to draw and it's okay for me considering I had to fight with the elements

Another very spectacular sketch my friend. I takes a lot of courage to go out there in this cold and the wind factor! The temperature today is a confortable -30°C with the wind factor. And the whole week is supposed to be pleasent like that!

Andre,
Beautiful work. You are really good at reproducing the "orange peel" effect seen in H-alpha. It looks like much activity is still happening (I observed the day before your drawing with my PST) but the big AR 1654 has rotated almost completely out of sight.
Question: does the arrow in your drawings point to north? And which way is west? I'm not familiar with your scope so I don't know if it mirror-reverses the image. I'm assuming it does not.
@ Glen A W--where in WV are you?

Michael. Yes, the arrow point toward north orientation and west on this one is down. My scope flip once the sun.

Andre, thanks for the response. If you have an odd number of reflections, then west would be up (counter-clockwise from north). See this SOHO image for reference--north is up and west is to the right.

Thanks, Glen. I guess by good skies you mean dark. Mine are too--I am ~3 miles from Cold Knob. Steady skies are a different issue, at least here. And did you know that Elkins was named one of the 10 cloudiest cities in the continental US?

Yes, dark, not steady! I am not far from Elkins, and I believe that 100%. The past two months have been terrible. I had a project to participate in with pros and got not a single good night during the 3.5 weeks window. GW

Move, move, move... I wouldn't support that much clouds and especially living in the top 10 cloudiest cities. I'm glad I'm able to do that much sun sketches.
