The Stellarium team announces the first release candidate of Stellarium version 0.12.0.
This release has over 40 closed bugs in the main application and in the plugins. Also this version has new rendering engine and some related to him improvements, like shadows from moons on planet surface. A huge thanks to our community who contributing to Stellarium!
We updated the configuration file and the Solar System file, so if you have an existing Stellarium installation, you need to reset the settings after you install the new version.
This is not a fully stable release and it's not intended for distribution and re-distribution to end users. The RC1 version is intended for testing only and should be installed only for peoples who don't mind looking for bugs and reporting them.

Hm. This is possible if your graphics card use OpenGL1, not OpenGL2+. Can you check it?

I can't find anything that refers to using OpenGL, 1 or 2. Can't figure out how to check it...

This is my mistake - solar shadows in RCx was disabled by default - you need just enabled it in settings.
