Pages: 1 helpwanted Post Laureate Reged: 07/04/07 Loc: Phoenix, AZ Star Seek wifi from Orion       #5634122 - 01/20/13 11:09 PM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   I could connect between my iPad and Intelliscope with wires, with no problems, but I just tried for the first time with the Orion StarSeek wifi... I get a message that says while the app can connect with the wifi, the telescope is not responding. Anyone else see this? I have tried everything mentioned under the support page on SkySafari. Btw, yes the SS works with the Orion hardware, but to be sure, I also tried this with the Orion StarSeek app, same problem. The problem in my case was that the wire was not correct, I had to make one with the right pin positions. So are you sure you are using the right wire? Even when I made the correct wire, both ends are the same size plug, but each end is specific for each device so I had mark the ends to remember which on goes to the Sky Commander and which end goes to the Star Seek. Perhaps you have the same situation? I had to crimp it onto the cable with a telecom crimping tool. Looks like their cable quality control needs a little help. That cannot be connected to the Star Seek device as far as I know. Maybe some pictures would help. I am totally confused here. I then bought the Orion Wifi, which CAN be used with the Southern Stars app... Although I have tried both apps to be sure. I meant to take a look at these cables again last night, but lost track of time, I will work on this tonight. Killer app and interface. Bluetooth was supposed to be the bomb but never had luck with it. Wi-Fi worked. Perhaps you have the same situation? Lane, I have heard conflicting accounts about the requirements to make a StarSeek / SkyCommander cable. Do you have a schematic you could share? If so, here is a diagram I made that shows the wire connections, you are looking directly at the ends of the wires in this diagram. These are the actual colors of my wires but obviously the colors do not matter, you need to make the connections shown. Post Extras:       Pages: 1
