Actually, I just took another look outside ... the clouds have parted! And you're right, Jupiter and the moon are gorgeous!
Too bad it's so friggin cold or I'd get the scope out. 15°F with an 18 mph wind (wind chill = 1°F) is beyond my pain threshold.

I'm still enjoying the clouds too.
Pleased you managed to see the Moon and Jupiter so close Tony.
Must have been a wonderful sight.
I managed to see Jupiter graze the Moons limb last year. It's an experience I'll never forget.
Regards. Peter.

Hi Haseeb,
It would be good if someone could. Been a long time since we've been so inactive for so long.
Tel was going to try to catch the Moons encounter with Jupiter that I referred to above. It was mid July last year and the clouds beat him even then. Don't thnk they've let up since.
I only caught it briefly, but as I indicated above, it was a wonderful sight.
Regards. Peter.

Peter - We had a pretty clear night. I was tied up with other duties but I did manage to go outside for a few minutes with a cup of joe and thought the view was very nice. I hope those clouds move out for you and Dan!... Tony

Here's a photo I captured with my ST80A. Really doesn't do justice to the naked eye sight which was truly spectacular.
