I am in the market to upgrade my 1.25" WO diagonal to a 2" and have some freedom in price (thanks Uncle Sam!). I really liked the looks of the WO and am considering another, but want to know what the consensus is regarding high end diagonals. I don't want to spend any money I don't need to as I am also going to buy eyepieces. But I want to make sure I don't have a weak link in my optical chain with the diagonal.

Save the cash and get the WO... and another ES82
Paying extra for the TV or AP gets you near-bullet proof construction (single piece of Aluminum) but surely indistinguishable from the WO optically.

Was actually thinking of getting the ES 100* 20mm.

From my experience and info gathering, there's very little difference optically between premium diagonals. That being said, I won't own anything but a ClickLock (I'm done with thumbscrews).

Call Denkmeier and get a PowerXSwitch diagonal.
It's a WO 2" diagonal with some nifty addons, such as a built-in Focal reducer and Barlow, so each eyepiece becomes 3.
S1 type for non-binoviewing, and S2 type for mono or binoviewing capability. It's a lot of coin, but the convenience factor can't be beat.

Well I have to second what Sorny suggested....
I too run a Denkemier S1 P/S diagonal and will not leave home without it...

The Bader Clicklock and the ES 100 series eyepieces are a perfect match IMO.

Stellarvue enhanced dielectric... It's a very solid piece and gives great views. I do use the Baader SCT click lock for my visual back and I agree that it is a great piece of gear and holds my lenses and diagonal securely

See Midnight Dan's thread this morning on the Meade weekly deal for a 2" dialectric diagonal and 24mm 82 degree eyepiece. Worth checking out.
