I was trying to do my first mosaic on M81/M82 but I missed it by just a tiny bit  . I got greedy and tried to frame each one vertically to have some extra space above and below, but I didn't account for trimming after stacking (my dither amount probably added to it). I should have just left the camera horizontal and I would have had plenty of overlap - it just would have been kind of wide and narrow.
I did wind up with two pretty decent pics, so I am still happy. I am just kicking myself for a silly error. I though about going back and shooting the empty space between them, but I decided to hold off.
Here is what I came up with. The backgrounds don't match since I processed them separately (and I think I got M81 a little dark). They were actually quite challenging to get processed, especially M81.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Looks good, you know you could probably go out and get maybe an hour or so on the middle frame and that should look good enough with the right noise processing and such.

Ya that a couple of excellent shots and even if you just shot a fill in shot someday to complete it would be cool.
Ive been working on a mosaic for going on 3 years now and it looks like I could make it a lifetime project if I wanted
