The SKYnyx 2.0 has 640x480 pixel format with 7.4µm pixels. The ASI 120MM has a 1280x960 pixel format with 3.75µm pixels. Pete G. Wow!) the image size using the same focal length decreased. I was curious if the image size in the 120 would be the same as the Skynyx using the same focal length. Thanks! Paul Mike, I have two Flea3's so moving to another camera right now isn't in the cards...but I'm definitely curious as well how the Flea and 120 compare. I prefer the 120 for sure. - The smaller pixel size eliminates all the spacers needed with the TV5XPM to fill the chip. Much shorter imaging train, more sturdy. - I don't need to mess with firewire. - The noise levels are fantastic. - It captures a LOT of data very quickly. 1 RGB run creates over 3GB of data with 30 second runs in each channel. - I can capture at much higher FPS and still get solid results. - Comes with a wide angle lens. - Does an awesome job on deep space targets as well. Just my preference, but the 120 is an awesome cam for a great price. I am also blown away by how well the data holds up to upscaling. This means that Jupiter (or any other target) falls onto more pixels, and thus appears 1.5 times LARGER (5.6/3.75) in the 120 when you keep the same focal length. If you were imaging at F/30 with the Flea3, you would now need to image at F/20 with the ASI120MM to get the exact same size of Jupiter in pixels! With the same amount of spacers I had for the Flea3, Jupiter wouldn't even fit on the 120. I had to remove all of them just to get it to fit. I guess the faster FL's are what allow me to shoot at such a higher FPS. Cant wait to try this thing out on Saturn.
