The jet stream and bitterly cold temperatures have me inside catching up on my data pile. I thought I would share two images with you captured recently through the C11 Edge, TV 2.5x Powermate, and DMK21AU618 w/ an Astronomik IIc red filter. The first is Albategnius...

And the second is Alphonsus, #47 in the Lunar 100, with its well known "dark spots"...

Thanks Darryl I've been a bit preoccupied with work and other life stuff. These images are part of an online gallery I am developing, including a Lunar 100 compilation. Got to gear up something with Jupiter getting smaller every day...

Brian,
Lovely! I think Alphonsus is one of my favorite spots on the moon and you got it nicely.

Thanks gang I really enjoy lunar imaging and it is harder than many think to get better-than-average shots. Seeing in my area is often dodgy, and I only get a few really good opportunities a year to have a crack at shooting first rate lunar pix, and never before day six in the lunation due to target altitude in my neighborhood.
Paul - Alphonsus is one of my favorites too!
Clear Skies,
Brian

Thanks Eric and Mike Mike - I've been a big fan of your lunar work for a while now. Just went out to your web site and now I'm thinking a week in Baja might be in my future, preferably during the front end of a lunation. I figure with the Moon setting pretty early you can hit it first and then settle in for some DSO chasing as it gets darker...

Brian we would love to see you here! Would you drive down with one of your scopes? Your C11 would essentially experience perfect seeing here on occasion!
Look forward to the results of your lunar 100! My plan is to image all the dome areas on luna this year!
cheers

And I'd love to come out. I'll get a hold of you off line, I have some significant logistical issues to address since I would be coming out from the East Coast. Cool idea on the dome imaging project, that should keep you busy for a while

Mike I like your website - and great prices. I'm going no where soon but you certainly have a heck of a package to offer.
