CG-5: Upgrading motor control software question

For upgrading the motor control software for a Celestron CG-5 mount:
I can do it using the same cable used to upgrade the Hand Control software?
I can ignore all of that info on needing a “port replicator” (or something)?
After connecting my PC to the Hand Control with serial cable, I turn on the mount?
I then run Celestron’s motor control update software?
Sorry if all of this has been discussed before, but I’ve searched CN and other locations and remain totally confused about what cable and power up procedure to use for motor control update.

With all recent firmware builds of the HC, yes, it can be upgraded through the HC port.
