Here is my second sketch of today's Sun. Really, sketching has rised my interest in solar observing, I've never noticed so much changes from day to day as I've done now. Cannot wait for Jupiter tonight.

Your interest will grow day after day and believe me, you will feel mad each day you will miss because not able to observe because of weather or other obligation as work.
Beautiful rendition of the sunspots.

Again an excellent drawing, Andrea! Once more, I particularly like the extraordinary little details you put in the three fragments. You clearly have a very good instrument, a keen eye and... very good drawing skills!
Cheers,
Peter

I think I will begin to take may scope to work with me for observing at launch time
Sure enough I'll miss it this incoming week!
Do you have any suggestion for rendering the photpsphere granulation in a more realistic way?

Hi Andrea. You have realy a good technique, I like the final result.
Like Mickael -spécial-Ed said, you can try darkening the limb. With my small 102/1000 I can clearly see this in white light. The result will be more realistic as you represent the 3 dimensional shape of our star.
A small sketch show this idea here :

So you just have to insist with your blending stump on this area.
In this circle, more darker, some active clear facula are often well visible. Like at 10 o'clock in my sketch.
Anyway, this is a very good technique and you use it very well
Michel
