I enjoy building my things but am fairly new to the telescope scene. I'm also not very good at figuring thing out without plans.I keep looking for some nice plans for an Equatorial platform for my scope but don't find anything very detailed. Anyone know of or have some plans with details such as what and where to get the motor and what sort of dimensions?
Thanks

I built one for my 16" telescope a few years ago.
You can read about it here:

Hi guys,
here are at least two of them in different sizes. For 14" and 22" scopes. Plans included. Unfortunately in german. http://www.reinervogel.net/
click the link "eq plattform" and then on the top right "baupläne" which means "construction plans". "Planung" is also very informative.

Hi Frederick, that's not mine. It's Reiner's. Mine is this here http://www.stathis-firstlight.de/atm/index.htm The white one, at the very top. But don't wanna hijack this thread here.

Please keep in mind, that the platform plans on my web page are for platforms at more Northern latitudes, like central Europe.
Ohio is at about 40°N, right? At that latitude I would switch to a platform with a circle segment as Southern bearing and not a simple pivot like in my platforms. Otherwise, the platform will become excessively long.
