I have an older LX 200 and want swap out the OTA . Is there a site that shows how this is done? I find a lot on de-forking but nothing on installation

Sounds like you found what you need. Just work in reverse and RE-FORK. Just make alignment marks with pieces of tape to line the forks back up with the base before disassembly.
SEE IF THIS HELPS
If you join the LX200GPS Yahoo Group, you can down load this LX200GPS_Conversion_LX200R.doc file from the files folder. You have to be logged into yahoo and be a member of that group to download the file. It has lots of pictures for re-forking a new OTA.

Sorry but I do not understand these operations. RE-fork an OTA is not easy without the proper tools. THE GOTO can suffer enormously negative.
Sell old instrument, and buy one, even used, with next-generation optical. So much easier. This is the best way to go.

Actually if the diameter is the same and all of the threaded holes line up properly, all you have to do is check and adjust the orthogonality to have the GOTO accuracy work just fine.
And even if you just eyeball the orthogonality and call it good enough, the GOTO accuracy will probably be acceptable.

In 2007 I swapped out OTAs on a 10 inch LX200GPS mount. Instead of tape I used scribe marks on the fork tines to maintain orthagonality. It woked fine and my telescope points fine.
