Newbie here. I have an 8" dob (Zhumell) that I've had for a year. I was thinking of marrying it to a Meade LX80 mount, but I'm not sure if that would work weight and balance-wise. I was just wondering if any of you more experienced folks could provide me with some advice. Thanks! -Rick

I think the OTA of the Z12 is about 50 lbs, and that would be beyond the carrying capacity of the LX80 in both Alt Az or EQ mode.

its an 8" not a 12" but i believe its f5 so 40" long.
i think it would demolish an LX80...
