Meade USB to Serial Software Success

Several years ago, I bought the Serial/USB cable from Meade to be able to connect my #497 Autostar Computer Controller to my laptop. After I got it, I discovered that the drivers would not work with my combination (Windows Laptop) so I put it away. Recently I saw a post or on the Meade website that indicated that it should work.

Well tonight, I deleted the old driver, rebooted the computer, installed the latest one (PL2303 Prolific Driver) and most amazingly, Autostar Updater recognized the #497 right away. I no longer have to use my Quatech SSPXP-100 RS-232 serial ExpressCard.

Everything I needed to get/know was on the Meade site.

Sometimes things really do work out.
