That is fascinating! How bright are these stars to be visible from 2 million light years?

Jerry... in this full resolution shot of M33 I took with my TEC200, do you think individual stars are seen in places? http://www.pbase.com/mclemens1969/image/120162157/original

They are blue giants that are from 16th to 19th V magnitude.

I think the faintest is about 19.11.

Thank you.

It is cool that we can do this with today's technology with an 11 inch scope what it took much larger scopes in the past.

But this isn't the first time it's been done with amateur equipment, it's been done many times.

I've even resolved these brighter blue giants in my 5 inch in images with a DSLR.

Hi Mike,

I don't really know, but I wouldn't be surprised.

M33 is farther away though.

You would do some research on OB associations in M33 like I did for this one in M31.

Hi Adam,

Thank you!

It's actually more like the Double Cluster in Perseus according to the paper by van den Bergh.

A friend and I were just comparing the Peterson Field Guide pictures to what we and you fellow shooters are capable of doing today and it is just incredible how much better things have come along in the last 20 yrs.
