As I stare into glistening infinity, a great sorrow befalls me. A wondrous jewel . A friend. A defender of greatness which offered itself to all with quiet, tranquil, humility. Passing to the great beyond, with utmost greatness, it is no more. Farewell, Circle T.

Yes, König (German word for king) eyepieces are no longer available.
Oh, and Circle T Abbé orthoscopics, too.

Hmm. Who *is* still making orthoscopics? I would hate to see this nifty little design disappear from the new market.

I love Circle-t orthos and UO Konigs. Really sad to see the end of their lines.

University Optics and Baader are bringing them in from China, and Kasai Trading is still marketing orthos from someone else. They're not gone, just lower in numbers.
I'm in the process of revising my 4 year old Buyer's Guide to Eyepieces, and I'm finding hundreds of eyepieces and several complete makes are now gone.

I prefer:
A King has his reign, then he dies. It's inevitable.
'Cept maybe in this and certain other instances, that inevitable can carry with it increased monetary value to those who own some of the Kings subjects.

I purchased the 6mm just last weekend weekend to fill a hole in my UO ortho collection. Just checked the UO website and as of now only the 25mm remains. So sad.

I pondered over and over getting the whole set with the exception of the 25, but just didn't think I would use them that much. I have the 12.5, 9, and 7mm, and they are great eyepieces IMHO that I will never part with. I use them for planets and they all barlow well; so, I just couldn't bring myself to spend the extra considering the barlow would get me in the ballpark with the other FLs. I regret selling the 18mm, but there again I have a 18mm Ultima that I compared it with quite closely. I kept the Ultima only for the extra AFOV. I wish we would get the HD back in production, but perhaps Tany (sp? Circle T) made the lenses for those as well?? I don't know.

I like them really well, but there are probably enough out there to last us forever. I still use the 5 all the time. But they weren't super-cheap and I have cheaper eyepieces which I like just as well, most of the time.
There was something special about them, though. The quality and simplicity of them, I guess. Real Japanese-made quality from the time when that was the best. GW

You can still get them at Edmund Optics, cheaper than U.O. optics last prices.

They are absolutely beautiful binoviewer eyepieces, luckily I purchased my pairs a couple months ago.
