BUT I looked at some Palomar, DSSII, SDSSII images, and could not find any hard evidence for a super nova at this location. Very strange, since it is now confirmed as a likely type 1c with spectroscopy. Atel 4772 I'm baffled by this one. Any thoughts? Presumably the spectrum was also obtained by difference.
