Hi all,
I was trying to image the dome near Promontorium LaPlace inside Sinus Iridum some nights back, the seeing was actually kinda bad for this sequence but you can certainly make it out, visually during the better moments and an 8mm ep it could be detected.

done with an 18" Starmaster dob (driven)

I didn't know there was a dome there. I'll have to look for it, when I can get the opportunity.

You caught a very revealing angle of illumination. Great work as always Mike. Always wild to see what another ten inches added onto my 8 can do!

Soft shmoft, it looks great! Cool that it has a sort of squarish base to it.
Makes me wonder if that and other domes were responsible for dumping that sea of lava forming the Sinus Iridum... Also love how your image captured the 'waves'. They almost appear to have white caps!
