Here is the lastest sketch of Jupiter, observed 2 days ago with a 3.5" refractor at 228x. On this part of Jupiter(CM~57) there were 2 large festoons, easly visble. Save the bother of outlining the planet which is oddly oblate anyway and download a Blank off of beltofvenus.com or google Jeremy Perez, Jupiter blanks. Saves a bit of bother, allows you to concentrate more on the shading and provides a nice black backdrop. You have a terrific finish to your work I always enjoy. I try to render as much as realistic of what I see at the eyepice. I "avoid" to use a template because I have a logbook with all the sketches I made of Jupiter from ~10 years ago...and I just want to finish it, but I'll take your advice and I'll make some sketches with black background template.
