does anyone know of a place that sells encoder parts for a intelliscope. i know that when you purchase a hand locator the altitude encoder assembly comes with it so the only parts that you would need in order to construct a digital setting circel on a plain dob would be the azimuth assembly. thanks, donnie

The Intelliscope is a patented system design and they are probably the only real source. The entire system; mount and scope were all designed to work together. Although I've not tried it, I've been told, you CAN'T take a 10XT Classic OTA and put it on the XTi base; the system won't perform right.

csrlice12, i had an older 8" intelliscope that i took the encoders off and applied them to my orion 10" classic and it works great! i also had it configured on a old 8" meade lx10 sct fork. the encoders are on the 10" now and i would like to find another set of encoders to rig up on my lx10 again. all i would need would be the azimuth card, magnetic disk, and cable connections. im probably out of luck but no harm in asking. thanks, donnie

How about putting up a wanted ad for an Intelliscope encoder system on CN or AM? It won't cost you anything to do so, and you might just get lucky.

yea keep your eyes peeled on a mart, here and ebay. I got a whole kit on a mart for $80 and it is working great on my home made 17.5"
it can even be adapted to a GEM mount
