Hi, I have been using my AT72ED as my guide scope and imaging with my LX200GPS 8" though now I would like to get some wider fov shots so, I would like to use my AT72ED for imaging and use the LX200 for guiding. Will this work or will I run into guiding issues due to the focal length swap?
Thanks
Mark

The longer focal length of the SCT will allow it to theoretically guide more than well enough for the shorter focal length scope. However mirror flop and flexure might keep the two scopes from always being rigidly aligned with each other.
I am a big fan of off-axis guiding with a radial guider versus two scopes.

Hello Mark:
I use my 10" LX200GPS to guide my EON 80ED all the time. My stars are always pinpoint and round. I usually use a focal reducer to bring the f/10 down to f/6.3 so that I can pick up more stars and the stars are a little brighter for the guide camera.

Like Ralph, I used my LX200 10" as a guide scope for an SV80ED. Worked well. I've tried my 12" ACF as a guide for the 80 but haven't had enough time to work with it in the cold of the Michigan winter!

Thanks Ralph!
I look forward to trying to guide with the lx200. This opens up more of a wider field of view for me. Thanks
