Does anyone use their LX200 as a guide scope?       #5664998 - 02/06/13 11:06 AM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   Hi, I have been using my AT72ED as my guide scope and imaging with my LX200GPS 8" though now I would like to get some wider fov shots so, I would like to use my AT72ED for imaging and use the LX200 for guiding. Will this work or will I run into guiding issues due to the focal length swap? However mirror flop and flexure might keep the two scopes from always being rigidly aligned with each other. I am a big fan of off-axis guiding with a radial guider versus two scopes. I usually use a focal reducer to bring the f/10 down to f/6.3 so that I can pick up more stars and the stars are a little brighter for the guide camera.
