Telescope Reviews: Moon Occults Star – S. India & Sri Lanka

The 2% illuminated waning crescent Moon will occult magnitude +3.1 Beta Capricorni for observers in southern India and Sri Lanka during the early morning of 2013 FEB 09. For those on a graze path, the star will appear to wink on and off as lunar hills and valleys pass by. There will be a full occultation for folks between the two graze paths. Immersion will occur on the lunar bright limb and emersion on the dark limb.
