I missed an opportunity on Sunday, happening to look out and seeing stars, but my setup area was covered in a couple of inches of snow! Monday I shoveled...but no clearing was predicted, by the time I saw that it had cleared, it was starting to cloud up again! Finally tonight I caught a break.
Here is the first result; 50% of 2 minutes @ 38FPS, C8 at F/25 & ASI120MC. I had to tweak the collimation from the last time...not sure if it's better or worse than it was...close at least. Seeing seemed ok...not terrible anyway...terrible I can tell at this point...after that...??

Thanks all!
I'm still trying to figure out what is good and what is so-so. Between seeing, collimation, focus and the fact that the darn planet won't stand still, it can be difficult for a guy just getting started on planetary imaging, to tell!

For someone starting out with a C8 that is a spectacular image Steve; I think you have a better handle on collimation procedure than you appear to give yourself credit for!

Very nice Steve! I would say your collimation is spot on. I had first light with my own ASI120MC last Friday but I have not had a chance to process the images sufficiently to post anything here. My seeing here is usually horrible so I'm not expecting much but boy is this little camera sensitive and fast. Shows great potential. Keep your images coming -very nice!

Thanks for all of the positive feedback/compliments! Clear skies here again tonight and just got in with a massive amount of data. I hope to post something yet tonight...unless I just wasted the last couple of hours collecting lousy data!
